PROMAX WINNER, FDA NUTRIENTS & CHOWDER

2010 GOLD PROMAX WINNER!  Trying to come up with a way to tell kids about the nutritional block and nutrients is challenging, but with the help of auto tune and the some great characters, I was able to write something that the Food & Drug Administration approved.

ATLANTIS / CN SWEEPSTAKES

I wrote and story boarded this project that had a very fast turn around for an international shoot.  I had a great team, and we pulled it off shooting everything with a Cannon 7D and small crew.

NIKO’s Skateboarding :53

We used everything from a really nice Red camera to an old Super 8 and a small GOPRO during a 2.5 day shoot at a skate competition.  I worked closely with the director and over saw the edit to get it to air.

PROMAX WINNER, One Serving For YOU!

Chowder learns from his good buddy Gazpacho what his mother says about food portion control in a little song and dance!  This was fun to write and work with the animators on the character’s wardrobe and choreography.

We won a 2011 Bronze Promax award for best art direction!

Kudos to 6 Point Harness who worked closely with all of our back and fourth changes!

JIB & CRASH

Co-creating Jib & Crash for custom movie promotions was a fun experience that allowed me to direct and write.  We used press junkets as our venues, which meant creative pre-production planning.   We only had limited time with the celebrities (average time 30 minutes) and shooting with puppets and live actors makes every shot an effects shot.   Directing big named actors, developing characters and integrating new movies under intense time restraints was a great challenge.

Here’s the promo that started the whole thing.

The next three spots show Jib & Crash with Jack Black, Steve Carell, and Steve Martin.  They were all great to work with, and none of them even tried to change the scripts!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Movie

Using a similar style to the popular book series, I wrote and directed Zach Gordon driving kids to Thursday night on Cartoon Network to find out more about the movie. The digital site updated with new videos every week for four weeks leading up to the movie’s release. The on-air spots actually affected ratings! The night of the sneak peek rated higher then Cartoon Network’s premiere of the animated cartoon Chowder.

Fruity Pebbles

I came up with the concept for this spot after the client mentioned something about wanting a paper craft activity.  So I wrote the script and worked with a 3D animation company to give it the look of stop-motion animation but animate in 3D due to time and money.  We ended up having the 3D company create the actual paper craft activity too.
